The Benefits of Doing Pregnant Yoga

Pregnancy is a stage that every would be-mothers should enjoy. But even though that should be the case, most women are stressed during their pregnancy mainly because of several factors including weight gain. It is important for expectant mothers to make sure that their babies are in good health by keeping fit and healthy as well that’s why maintaining weight and doing exercises can prove to be greatly beneficial for them.

Yoga, in particular, is one of the best exercises that you can do if you are pregnant. Aside from being safe, it also improves the inner body cycles which help in ensuring that the baby, as well as the mother-to be, is healthy. Here are actually some of the benefits that you can get when you do pregnant yoga:

The stretching exercises that are being done in yoga improve blood circulation and also help promote the easy passage of oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. Aside from that, these stretches can also boost your state of mind as well as improve your overall well being and that of your child.

Doing yoga exercises can also help in strengthening the muscles. This is really necessary especially since during pregnancy, you need to keep away from any kind of stress or strain on your lower back. Because of an increased weight, pregnant women tend to shift the entire weight of their body towards their pelvis thus causing back pains. But when you enroll at a pregnant yoga class, you would be able to have a better posture and can also help you lessen the pain in your back.

Aside from that, yoga also helps in increasing your muscular strength as well as the suppleness and tone of your body, which is of utmost importance during labor. Doing yoga exercises can make the whole procedure less painful and much easier. Furthermore, yoga aids in making you lose weight faster because muscles would burn the fat that you were able to gain during pregnancy.

You should always remember that your state of mind is also necessary during your pregnancy that is why the breathing exercises done in yoga can help you check and assess your mood. It also teaches you how to control your mind and avoid stressful situations which can put you and your baby at risk.

These are just some of the wonderful benefits that you would be able to get when you decide to do yoga.  Just bear in mind that you should be able to choose a good instructor who knows the necessary aspects in pregnant yoga because the routines for pregnant woman are entirely different from the usual weight loss programs. And always make sure that you have a well balanced nutrition to be able to experience the full benefits of yoga during pregnancy.

Bikram Yoga for Pregnant Women

Since I’ve been so much into this yoga thing, I encouraged my friends and even some of my relatives to join me in my Bikram classes. Many of my friends nodded and I was happy about it. But what made me surprise was when my aunt who was thirty years old then and was pregnant, asked me if she could also join the Bikram classes. I also asked myself if it would not be dreadful to her condition. I didn’t want her to get disappointed so I immediately ask my instructor if my aunt could undergo Bikram yoga. To my delight, my instructor told me that there’s no problem with pregnant women joining yoga classes.

On the other hand, my aunt consulted her doctor and agreed that yoga would even help her obtain a normal delivery. After a week, I accompanied my aunt to yoga classes. We both were amazed at how Bikram yoga can help pregnant women.

These are some things that we discovered:

• Bikram yoga helps pregnant women develop a healthy and happy baby.
• It gives pregnant women less worries when it comes to the length of delivery of the child.
• It gives relaxing and comforting feeling, thus pregnant women would not feel the usual irritation.
• It aids to normalize your body systems especially after giving birth.
• Bikram Yoga prepares and sets your mind to the real world of motherhood.

My aunt was grateful for these benefits that she’s now getting from Bikram yoga. Her instructor just advised her to not push herself to her energy limit. Just do the postures while enjoying. She’s also recommended to keep well-hydrated and do everything in moderation.

Because of this, I love Bikram yoga even more. Surely, when the time comes that I’ll be having a child, I’d still go for Bikram classes.
