Stand up. Put your feet parallel with each other. The big toes should be level and side by side. Press the ball of your feet and then the sole of your feet to the floor. Spread your toe fingers and press them to the floor.
Be aware of your knees. Put them in front. One way to do it is to rotate your upper thighs gently to the middle.
Be aware of the position of your hips and tail bone. Gently push your hips to the front and elongate your tail bone.
Be aware of your back. Straighten your back. Don’t let a hollowed circle be formed in your back. Keep it straight.
Look at a spot parallel to your eyes. Imagine a string pulling your back and head up to the ceiling. Place your hands on your side. Relax. Close your eyes. Breathe easily.
Imagine that you are a tree. Imagine that you are growing roots below the ground. Your legs and feet are growing roots. Imagine that your root is getting nutrition from the ground and the the nutrition is going up to your body-tree. Imagine your face, ears, head and hair are the tree’s leaves and branches. Imagine the trees and branches are growing out into the air.
You have become a mountain attached to the earth and giving out positive energy to the air.
Do the mountain pose whenever you’re standing– waiting in line or standing on the bus. It will greatly improve your posture. This exercise back posture helps.
