Yoga Practice to Handle Stress

yoga practice to handle stress
Stress is one of the major causes of health problems for many adults today. With the face-paced life that we are in, multi-tasking and hurrying up and long hours at work are the normal everyday challenges that we face. Stress causes high blood pressure, makes you look old, makes you irritable and affects the way you relate with people. There is one way to prevent all of these and handle stress: yoga.

Yoga helps you relax and feel good and handle difficult things. Practicing yoga will help you make good decisions and will give you the inner power to start and finish all the things that you need to do. When you practice yoga, you will learn how to breathe slowly and makes use of the full capacity of your lungs.

Do you notice that when you are stressed out or angry or in a bad mood, your breathing becomes faster? You can control your stress or your emotion by doing some yoga breathing exercises. Just sit down with your back straight and then start breathing deeply and slowly. Count your breath and be mindful of the air breathing in and air breathing out. After 10 counts, notice that you feel much better and more relaxed.

The whole yoga routine of poses or asanas will also help you in handling your stress. The yoga poses will put you into a meditative mood that will calm you down and clear your mind. If you are feeling a lot of stress everyday and you feel that your lid will come off, it will be very helpful if you start doing some yoga breathing exercises and one or 2 yoga postures.
