Yoga Changed Jennifer Aniston’s Life

Friends actress Jennifer Aniston wants you to experience the yoga practice (and yoga teacher) that changed her life. Aniston is lending her celebrity-status to get out the word that her teacher and friend Mandy Ingber is releasing a yoga DVD called, Yogalosophy. She gives the intro to the video and will be attending a launch event on Thursday in Los Angeles, according to People.com. “It’s one of the most fun workouts I’ve ever had,” Aniston says in the
video intro. “So have fun and work hard because it will totally pay off.”

Yoga Helps Rwanda Rape Survivors

If you know anyone who doubts the power of yoga, show them this video from CNN (below).

Project Air, an organization that
teaches yoga to HIV+ women in Rwanda and helping genocide rape survivors
and their children, has seen dramatic results. The organization has
reached thousands of HIV+ women and children, and was recently endorsed
by the UN–the first time the UN has ever given formal endorsement to a
yoga initiative. To learn more about Project Air and their mission to expand into the Eastern Congo visit project-air.org.

Yoga Helps Kids with Cancer and ADHD

Good Morning America recently featured yoga as an effective therapy for kids dealing with with both cancer and ADHD. Though no one knows exactly why yoga is an effective treatment, says the report, but it might have something to do with how yoga helps the brain regulate the stress hormone cortisol.
